Does Being Fat Have Anything to Do With Your Childhood?

Have you ever wondered, why you are fat? Your were not born to be fat. You were born to be happy and healthy, that is God's plan for all of us, where did it go wrong?

I have never been obese, but I have always been 20-30 pounds overweight. Upon a serious self evaluation, I notice that when I eat breakfast, lunch or dinner, it doesn't matter, I ALWAYS have to eat 2 helpings! Why is that? It is not because I am hungry. It is out of habit.

When I was growing up, my dad ALWAYS criticized what my mom cooked, I don't care what it was, it was either cooked too much, too salty, not salty enough, and the list goes on. When I was a child I always felt bad for my mom when he would criticize her, so I would eat and eat and eat and tell her how good it was. Then that started to be a habit, and if there were any left overs, I ate them, which resulted in my nicknames "garbage gut" and "pork chop." To this day, I still over eat. One helping, just isn't enough, or so my brain has been programmed to believe.

Not only was my dad critical of my mom, but of me as well. No matter what I wanted to do, I would always ask his opinion of things, just to get "you aren't good enough, you aren't smart enough, you aren't disciplined enough, and that list goes on and on. When I was 18 yrs old I wanted to go into the military, of course I have to ask his opinion of that and in return he tells me that we are going to war and they are going to put on the front line. He scares me half to death, so I never went in the military. I often wonder what my life would be like if I wouldn't have listened to him.

Sadly, I feel the reason my dad was critical, is because HIS mom was very critical of him, and that had been going on for generations. Have you ever heard of GENERATIONAL habits and mindsets? This comes from our parents, which they got from their parents and so forth. Most people do not realize how powerful their enviroment is throughout their life.

Be on the watch for negative generational habits and mindsets that have rubbed off on you, and most of the time you don't even realize it.

Selfishness

Depression

Lack of Enthusiasm

Negativity

Victim Mentality

Bring more SELF AWARENESS in your life. Start thinking positvely about yourself and what you can accomplish. Negative generational habits that you have accepted limit your growth and accomplishments. Tell yourself everyday that you are a great person and that great things are going to happen in your life and that you DERSERVE them.

Our mental attitude directs our life.
